As summer draws to a close, it seems a good time to point out that many teachers enjoy visiting other states or other countries during their annual vacation. Whether formally or informally, these "field trips" add dimension and enrichment to our selves as educators, and, more often than not, to our instructional programs. My husband, Hal, and I were fortunate enough to take that long-awaited vacation to Europe this summer. I have written an article about one of the excursions we enjoyed while there.
